Spotted: TaylorMade BRNR Mini Driver (2.0)

Much like Jesus, TaylorMade’s retro font has returned from the dead. And with it, TaylorMade BRNR Mini Driver (Version 2). No, this is not an April Fool’s joke. We wouldn’t do that to you … at least not in this article.

TaylorMade BRNR Mini Driver 2.0 – What We Know

I wasn’t joking about the retro font. There it is in full display. Some will love it. Others … may not be keen on it (guilty party right here).

The newest version of the TaylorMade BRNR Mini Driver will be available in both right and left handed (all the lefties rejoice). However, as far as the USGA conforming list is concerned, left handed golfers will only have an 11.5° loft option. Right handed golfers will have 11.5° & 13.5°.

Given the loft options, you can see that the BRNR Mini Driver 2.0 offers an adjustable Loft Sleeve and two movable weight ports. Both of these components should allow golfers to optimize their launch conditions. After all, this club will be suitable as a driver replacement or a STRONG 3-wood.

Additional components will be TaylorMade’s “Twist Face”, which helps with mishits and promotes a straighter ball flight on those mishits. You can also see TaylorMade’s “Thru-Slot Speed Pocket”. This technology feature has become a staple in TaylorMade’s wood offerings. The “Thru-Slot Speed Pocket” is specifically engineered to maximize ball speed and create a more forgiveness on strikes caught lower on the club face.

More To Come

Mini Drivers aren’t for everyone. Yes, they are possibly a versatile replacement for your driver. But, maximizing your distance may not be in the fold with a mini driver, especially for those of you who spin the ball a ton. On the flip side, hitting more fairways is never a bad thing. It’s purely about finding the golf club that works best for you and your needs.

Until then, you and I, and the rest of the golfing community will have to wait to witness this bad boy firsthand.
